Asia is committed to closing the digital gap
30 Asian and Middle Eastern countries on June 5 agreed to try to narrow the digital gap between rich and poor countries through joint research and sharing projects.
This statement on IT (IT) was launched at the 6th meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum (ACD) in South Korea. Deputy Minister Vu Dung on behalf of the Government of Vietnam attended this meeting.
ACD has pledged to support joint IT research projects among member countries in tandem with promoting partnerships in this field both at the state and private levels. It also promises to overcome the inconsistent trends of IT including Internet propaganda on terrorism, cyberbullying, privacy violations and Internet addiction among young people .
The parties will adopt the "Seoul Declaration" calling on developed countries to support IT and share experiences for underdeveloped countries in this area. In addition, on the sidelines of the forum, there were a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings between diplomatic officials, especially the first official meeting between the Korean Foreign Minister-China and Japan on the 3rd. -6.
The ADC Forum was established in 2002 under Thailand's initiative and is the largest dialogue forum in Asia. In 2007, for the first time, the forum was attended by Russia, 3 Central Asian countries, 7 Middle East countries and all ASEAN members.
