Asteroids are about to cross Earth

An asteroid more than a kilometer in size will pass through the Earth tomorrow, but is expected to pose no danger.

An asteroid is about to cross Earth tomorrow

The US Aeronautics Agency (NASA) said the 1999 asteroid FN53 is about 1.3 km across. Normally, a space object of this size can cause destruction if it collides with the Earth. 1999 FN53 was discovered in March 1999 and flew over the Earth at 14 km / s (twice the speed of a rocket when flying high), at a distance of 10 million km.

According to RT, there is no sign that the 1999 FN53 will hit the Earth or sweep near enough to influence in any way. The occurrence of asteroids is not counted on the dangerous scale of NASA 's Near-Earth Object Research Agency .

1999 FN53 is three times larger than the sub- starry Apophis, which passed through the Earth at a distance of 14 million kilometers in 2013. It is also not the last asteroid that sweeps through our planet. Scientists predict that space objects called Codenamed Icarus will appear on June 16, moving three times faster than 1999 FN53 and closer to Earth.

Professor Bill Napier of the University of Buckinghamshire, England, said a collision with a large asteroid could have killed a fifth of the world's population. In addition to affecting humans, it also destroys the ozone layer , allowing unlimited sunshine to reach Earth, burning vegetation.
