A new albino sparrow found in Australia, but may not live long because it is easy to become a prey.

The albino creature was discovered at Sanctuary Lakes, the outskirts of Point Cook, southwest of Melbourne city, with snow-white fur. According to Bob Winters, an expert in identifying birds, the albino individual is about 7 months old. White coat makes it difficult to disguise in natural environments, while there may be some defects due to genetic mutations.

The sparrow is predicted to be unable to live long because the striking coat makes it a prey. "This individual has a lot of disadvantages. It is easily pushed out of the nest because it is different from the others and has delicate fur so it is difficult to fly," AFP quoted Winters as saying.

The albino sparrow in the world is rarely seen. Albino may appear when a bird inherits the albino gene from both parents. It affects pigmentation, making the bird have light pink eyes or legs.
