Australia developed a method for rapid diagnosis of skin cancer

Australian researchers have developed a pioneering blood test that diagnoses skin cancer more quickly and effectively than conventional methods.

On November 18, Victoria Health Minister Jill Hennessy said this groundbreaking "biopsy" test method was widely applied at Melbourne's Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.

Before the invention of this new test method, malignant tumors could only be "identified" after undergoing complicated surgery that would result in weeks.

Meanwhile, the blood test can provide the same information that takes only a few hours from a regular blood test. This method is believed to save the lives of millions of people worldwide.

Once skin cancer is detected by new test methods, oncologists can quickly provide the most appropriate treatment regimen for each patient, to prevent cancer cells from spreading into the blood.

According to Minister Hennessy, with this new method, patients can be diagnosed and treated earlier, without having to wait for anxious results and painful surgeries.

In addition to faster diagnosis, a new blood test can help doctors know when the treatment regimen is no longer working, so that the doctor can change the medication before the patient's condition begins to weaken.
