Baby girl addicted to glass and bricks

A 3-year-old girl in Indiana (USA), suffers from a rare syndrome, addicted to eating things like light bulbs or bricks.

Natalie Hayhurst girl with Pica syndrome , addicted to eating things without nutrients. The food that she loves the most is stone and wood stems in the garden. Even Natalie could devour a brick like eating cakes.

In February 2011, she almost died after eating a light bulb.'Once, I let Natalie lie in bed to go to the kitchen. Suddenly, I walked in and picked up a piece of wire. My mouth bleeds and I understand what happened , 'said Natalie's mother, Colleen.

Colleen immediately took Natalie to the medical center near her home for first aid before taking her to the pediatric hospital to remove glass from her body. Fortunately, Natalie quickly recovered after the operation.

Since the accident, Natalie has been monitored almost 24/24 by her parents and she also has less glass. But sometimes the craving makes a 3-year-old girl like Natalie irresistible, especially when playing in the garden.

Colleen said: 'My daughter has eaten less glass since she was in pain, but she ate stones and branches found in the garden. I've had to call ambulance many times because I'm poisoned when eating them. '
