Belgium: Google lost the case
The Belgian tribunal issued a decision on February 13 that "the giant " Google had to remove the headlines and links to articles published on its news website.
Google lost in a copyright lawsuit in which it was told by Belgian online press agencies that it had arbitrarily linked to sources without prior permission.
As for Google, the company said it would appeal the decision, claiming that the Google News news service was " perfectly legal ", and that the court's ruling did not create any precedent.
Meanwhile, the Belgian court argued that Google could not rely on controversies like the company had " fair use " of its sources because of headlines, text and images linked to the original page. The Belgian court considered it to be a violation of copyright and intellectual property laws.
