Some tunnels in Brussels capital are closed. Approximately one third of traffic vehicles are clogged, so it is almost impossible to move, the rest must move slowly due to slippery roads and blocked visibility, causing congestion on the road. Last February, Belgium also experienced a snowstorm that caused 1,300km of vehicles congested on the road.

There are reports of accidents on roads throughout Belgium mainly due to slippage and the material damage in collisions is negligible due to the slow speed of vehicles.

In the face of traffic difficulties, some schools have proactively notified students to leave school on March 12. Meanwhile most offices have employees who are late to work or have to work at home. The US Embassy in Brussels announced its closure on March 12 because many employees could not come to work.

Bad weather has affected all public transport services. In all regions, trams and buses still operate, but the frequency of trips is significantly reduced, with a few bus routes inactive. Almost no buses operate in the center of Brussels capital on March 12. Many subway trains (metro) are also slow.

Just before 11 am March 12, it was announced that all rail services in and out of Brussels were stopped. Eurostar recommends that passengers postpone trips because it has to deal with many delays in northern Belgium. All Thalys trains are also stopped.

Liege Airport was closed but then reopened immediately at noon on March 12, but there was a serious congestion of flights at Charleroi Airport. Most flights from Brussels airport also slowed down.
