Russia: Temperature -60 degrees Celsius

The eastern region of Russia is experiencing a harsh freezing winter, temperatures have dropped to a record low, at -60 degrees Celsius.

The Russian Meteorological Agency noted that January 11 temperatures in the Yakutia and Far East republics ranged from -580C to -600C. In many places, local authorities have ordered schools to be closed to ensure student safety. The people of Yakutia have to live and work in cold weather below -50 degrees Celsius since early 2012.

It is forecasted that the low temperature in this area will continue to last for the next few days. The whole Russian Far East is also covered by snow and snow, where the snow is nearly 1m long, the temperature measured from -30 to -40 degrees C.

Local emergency agencies recommend that people should wear warm clothes, choose warm shoes and are not too tight, do not go out unless absolutely necessary.
