Researchers at Kang Ning Hospital said that if the double thigh measurement is 5 cm more than the hip measurement, that is a sign of obesity and the risk of heart disease.
Other studies also suggest that thighs larger than 52 cm can be considered overweight and need to re-examine fat.
Yin Chang-sheng, deputy director of the hospital, advised that women with big thighs should walk or jog 15-20 minutes a day. Another way to reduce thigh fat is to practice leg exercises. He also stressed that exercise is more effective than dieting.
According to a survey conducted by hospitals on 403 women aged 25 to 45, Taiwanese women feel the most frustrated about their hips, followed by the thighs, and the lower abdomen. About 80% said they tried everything but still could not adjust to the lower part of their body.
The survey also found that more than 50% of Taiwanese women take an average of 6 years to improve the lower half of the body by dieting, creaming, taking medicine, hot compress .
While most Taiwanese women desire perfect 3 round measurements, 67% of them do not exercise regularly, instead restricting their intake.
Chang-sheng advises that women should not be too focused on three-round measurements, but look at the balance in the body, especially the thighs, because it can affect cardiovascular health.
