The Central Truong Son area consists of 7 provinces, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Binh Dinh and Da Nang cities, with over 2.38 million ha of forest, of which natural forest accounts for nearly 2.2 million hectares, the rest are planted forests, the average coverage of the region reaches 42.75%.

Although in the past few years, the area and forest cover have increased, but the forest quality and biodiversity of the whole region still tend to decline due to the exploitation of excessive forest products by humans. habitat, depleting a rich food source of species, leading to a decline in animal and plant species.
