Brazil successfully launched exploration missiles

On July 19, Brazil successfully launched an exploration rocket. This is the second successful launch, last time took place 14 months ago. The flight lasted 20 minutes to study the effect of micro gravity on enzymes and human DNA.

The VSB-30 rocket is 12.6 meters long and weighs 2.6 tons, has two floors, launched from the Alcantara launch site in Maranhao state, Northeastern Brazil. The rocket has risen nearly 280 km before it is down.

Alcantara base is considered an excellent launch location because it is only 2.3 degrees from the Equator. Equatorial is the place where the Earth moves the fastest, helping to propel missiles into space and using less fuel but 13% elsewhere.

However, at the base, in August 2003, 21 Brazilian space workers were killed by an explosive missile while being prepared to launch.
