Dr. Nguyen Chanh Khe, Scientific Director of Research and Development Center of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Park, has successfully researched the method of using "burning" nanotechnology to generate electricity. With this unique invention using water for fuel, a prospect opens, promising to help solve the energy shortage in the future.
The principle of electricity generation that Dr. Khe invented is using nanotechnology - but more specifically, a nanocomposite with a catalytic function - to produce hydrogen gas (H 2 ) in the water, then continue using it. Nanotechnology and catalysts for 'burning' this gas create an electric current. There is actually no burning reaction here, but the successful fabrication of the hydrogen-H 2 catalyst turns into a H + and electron proton, giving an electrical power of about 0.13watts / cm 2 .
In order to build a 2,000W generator, it is necessary to create 200 units as above into 10 dual batteries, and charge it into the capacitor until the desired power is reached. This is not electrolytic technology so do not use external energy. This technology is also not a battery technology that uses toxic substances such as concentrated lead or sulfuric acid, and is also different from energy batteries in many countries that use temperatures ranging from 800 ° C - 1,000 ° C to operate. dynamic in electric cars. Dr. Khe's invention needed the main raw material for the battery to work again. The battery does not need to be charged, does not change, when there is absolutely no noise, no pollution, and therefore does not cause fire or explosion .

The unique point of the device is that at the same time both providing electricity and providing clean water. Hydrogen gas is 'burned' , fused with oxygen (O 2 ) and again turned into water. This water is extremely pure, drinkable and usable in daily life and cultivation. According to Dr. Khe, no matter how dirty the water is, when put into this device, hydrogen gas will be separated to be burned into electricity and create clean water. This invention will be very useful for areas that lack fresh water such as island waters, just scooping sea water into it and electricity and water for use. Dr. Khe hopes that this work will bring a light source of electricity and an endless source of water for our soldiers in the Spratly Islands and other islands.
In the immediate future, it is most practical to produce conventional generators, parts attached to cars, motorbikes and machines that use electricity. In the long run, there will be industrial water generators. Thus, if successful, this project will solve the energy problem in the future.
Currently in the experiment, Dr. Khe has generated a 50W power source. It is expected that by the end of this year, the capacity of 2,000W will be delivered and the capacity will reach 600KW. Dr. Khe said, with this research, he will call on investors to set up companies to produce all kinds of generators. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese people and later the world to use cheap electricity.
The above study was presented on the People's Security Newspaper on December 26, 2011.
It is known that Dr. Khe has over 40 research and invention projects that have registered intellectual property in countries with the most advanced science and technology in the world such as the US and Japan, many of which are His cleverness has been widely used.
