Australian rangers have been hunting this crocodile since they first saw it in 2010. They want to arrest and isolate the reptile to avoid it "interacting with people."

'We put a lot of nicknames for it after so many years because it was so hard to catch, ' the ABC quoted forest ranger John Burke as adding that a crocodile was not that big.

'It is the largest crocodile ever taken from the Katherine River , ' said the head of the wildlife management agency Tracey Duldig.

After trapping, the animal was taken to a crocodile farm to avoid danger to the local community.

Only this year, 187 individuals were captured in Australia's Top End - the northernmost region. Australian national park conservation and management officials always warn visitors to be careful with this reptile.

"The danger of crocodiles is real. Don't be subjective or risk your life," warned the North Australian reserve site.
