Catch giant crocodile weighing 500kg after finding a human body

Locals have caught a crocodile weighing almost half a ton, killing people in Palawan, Philippines.

According to the philippines, the local authorities found a dead body and left leg of a man named Cornelio Bonete, 33, from Barangay Poblacion 5 at the end of November.

The victim's right leg was broken, while the wound was bitten by a crocodile. Bonete's body was found in the Sitio Bual area, Barangay Malaking Ilog.

From there locals on Balabac Island , in the southernmost part of Palawan have started looking for track of saltwater crocodile attacking people.

Recently, they caught this nearly 500kg crocodile. Palawan Sustainable Development Council (PCSD) and Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Rescue Center were on site to confirm the incident.

Jovic Fabello, spokesman for Palawan Sustainable Development Council (PCSD), said: "We have advised local authorities and victims' families on how to assess the area, locate and trap animals. danger".

Balabac is home to many saltwater crocodiles so it is often noted that alligators attack people. Last October, a 16-year-old high school student survived after being attacked by a crocodile in Barangay Poblacion 5.

Crocodile expert Rainier Manalo said people need to be alert when crocodile breeding or mating season takes place from November to February every year. They are aggressive to protect the territory at this time. Meanwhile, the egg-laying crocodile season is from March to August.

Experts also said that the living environment, especially mangrove forests are narrowed and the cause of more and more cases of crocodile attacks people.
