Challenge cold water bath every morning for 1 month: No colds but full of energy!

Before, I was always skeptical about the benefits of taking a cold shower in the early morning, until I experienced it myself for a month.

On the Internet, we still read a lot of health tips but rarely follow. However, when I learned about the cold water challenge every morning for 30 days, I decided to try it out. Because of this, this habit is said to improve the immune system and blood circulation, reduce stress, improve mood, reduce muscle aches.

This habit is believed to improve the immune system and blood circulation, reduce stress .

Week 1

The water is really very cold. Although I was mentally prepared the night before, after waking up, I still felt scared when faced with this challenge. I lift myself into the bathroom, take off my pajamas and stand under the shower. I wonder: "Why do I agree to do this?".

I set the alarm clock for about 5 minutes and poured water into my body. The most difficult thing was breathing. I almost panicked when exposed to the cold water. After about 2 minutes, my breathing started to slow down. I started to stand firm, wash my hair and blow my hair under the cold water. When the alarm clock rang, I quickly turned off the faucet. Immediately, a warm, refreshing feeling flooded my chest and abdomen. I'm not sure if this was due to a sudden change in temperature, but it was really pleasant.

So my first week passed exactly the same: At first it was a cold feeling, then I controlled my breathing and felt much warmer.

Comment: I have not seen my immune system improve yet, because there are no sick people around me to check. However, I feel more refreshed and energetic in the morning, less stressed than usual for 1 hour after taking a cold shower.

Week 2

By the second week, I was only panicked for the first 30 seconds after pouring water on me. The cold shower gradually became a habit. I started to look forward to the warmth after each shower.

Sometimes I wake up in a state of headache, sleepiness and drowsiness, not wanting to take a cold shower at all. But then I realized, it was at such times that cold bathing took effect. My headache disappeared. I felt abundant energy as if I had never been starved.

Remarks: After 2 weeks of cold shower, I feel my mood is better, stress is less. If the blood circulation is better, does the immune system get better, will the muscle aches go away, I will have to look further.

Week 3

There were no special events in the third week, except one thing: There were two days when I felt chills after taking a cold bath, instead of feeling as warm and refreshing as before.

Comment: Although I have not seen any significant changes in health, the early morning cold shower routine has become indispensable to me. I feel as energetic as if I just drank coffee.

Week 4

Now, the cold shower has become so easy for me, it makes me feel very surprised. I no longer felt shocked or shivered except for the first 1-2 seconds.

The feeling after each shower is really great. It's like you're jumping into a cold river in the middle of the summer, struggling a little and feeling peaceful, as if everything is all great.

Remark: By this time, I fully believe in the benefits that cold water bathing habits bring.

After a month of cold shower in the morning, I felt this was a very good habit. This is a great way to increase vitality and improve mood after waking up. However, all have scientific reasons behind it.

According to internal medicine doctor Holly Phillips: "A cold shower will help you breathe deeper and increase your heart rate. Thanks to that, the body will absorb more oxygen, and oxygen will also be transported throughout the muscle. It can be faster to keep warm, so you will feel refreshed and ready for a new day "

In addition, Dr. Phillips said, cold showers can also improve mood by "increasing the amount of adrenaline in the body and the amount of endorphin in the brain."
