Doctor Nguyen Thi Hong Nga is examining a patient Tran Hoa Binh (9 years old, Binh Duong) who is ill with no blood - (Photo: L.TH.H) Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (29 years old, Phu Giao, Binh Duong) there is a son Tran Hoa Binh, 9 years old, writhing in pain in bed at Hospital (BV) Blood Transfusion - Hematology.

Thu said that when she was born, Binh was sick and swollen in her arms and legs . When she was two months old, Mrs. Thu took her to this hospital for medical examination. The doctor discovered that Binh had an unstable blood disease (also called Hemophilia disease). So, nearly 10 years ago, Thu and her son kept going up and down BV like a meal.

In 2000, Thu gave birth to a boy named Tran Duy Linh. From birth to three years, Linh is healthy. Any doubt at the end of April 2003, Linh became seriously ill. She rushed her child to a pediatric hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and the doctor diagnosed her baby with a blood freeze. After being discharged from the hospital for a day, Linh had a fever. I hold my child back to BV. Three days later, she died of cerebral hemorrhage.

Doctor Nguyen Thi Hong Nga - head of the general planning department, BV Hematologic blood transfusion - said blood disease is not a coagulation genetic hereditary disorder. This is a recessive genetic disease, related to sex chromosomes.

However, about one third of patients (BN) do not detect genetic properties. These cases are considered to be due to normal gene mutations into disease genes, and the gene is inherited for the next generation.

In the case of hereditary disease, if the father is a patient with no blood and the mother is a normal person, then all of their daughters carry a blood disease gene that is not crowded, and all boys are not sick and do not transmit the disease next generation.

If the father is not sick with blood and the mother has a blood disease disease, it is not likely to give birth to a girl who also has blood, but this is a very serious disease, can die very soon.

At Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion Hospital, seven months of 2006 examined nearly 400 patients with non-coagulated blood diseases, of which 20 patients were newly diagnosed.

Early detection and prevention of complications

Dr. Hong Nga advised that when the patient started having joint or muscle pain, take it immediately to the hospital, not to swell. In addition, the patient should go to the hospital as soon as the bleeding goes out and cannot stop bleeding;blood in the urine;after a head injury;persistent headache, or vomiting, nausea of unknown cause;bleeding or swelling in the chest;Unexplained abdominal pain.

People who have no blood disease can also become infected or have other diseases. Therefore, when infected, should be treated as soon as possible, preferably after a few hours. If waiting until the symptoms are clear, the disease will have to be treated longer, more painful and more painful.

According to Dr. Hong Nga, all patients with no blood are male. The incidence is about 1 / 10,000 newborns. Symptoms usually appear when children learn to crawl, stand and practice walking. After falls, there is usually bleeding under the skin, joints . or lips, tongue depending on where the injury is.

The manifestation of the disease is very diverse, the patient may be natural or after an injury, after surgery, abnormal bleeding anywhere on the body. Patients sometimes have cerebral bleeding, sometimes bleeding in the face, in the neck and chest.

Sometimes patients bleed from deep cuts or prolonged skin scratches and recover after a few days without treatment. Mouth bleeding, gums and nose are also common. Sometimes, gastrointestinal bleeding and blood in the urine. However, muscles and joints are the most bleeding sites. When bleeding, the joints are often swollen, so many people think of the disease of the muscles, joints, and medication all the time but not the disease.

Joint bleeding is a dangerous type of bleeding because repeated relapses can cause arthritic arthritis. Joint bleeding may occur naturally or after an injury. If treated late after four hours, the pain may increase, the joint will swell and the treatment will last.

Older children can recognize joint bleeding through a prickly sensation or crawling ants in the joint, before pain and swelling occur. If the patient is treated early, it will prevent chronic pain and joint deformity.

Dr. Hong Nga said it was a lifelong treatment. The only treatment for patients in Vietnam today is the transmission of missing elements (cold precipitation) to help blood retain. Therefore, if the patient is taken care of fully and prevented from bleeding, it is still possible to have life as normal as possible. When children are diagnosed with blood disease, they should give their children preventive treatment as soon as possible to reduce complications caused by bleeding.
