On August 15, China announced images of lander and self-propelled vehicles serving the Hang Nga-4 project - expected to land in the dark areas of the Moon this year.

The images on display at the press conference on the same day showed that this self-propelled vehicle has a rectangular box shape, with a length of 1.5 meters, 1 meter wide, 1.1 meters high, equipped with 2 Face panels foldable sky and 6 wheels.

Ngo Vi Nhan, General Engineer of the Lunar Exploration Program, said the Hang Nga-4 self-propelled vehicle basically retains the shape and conditions of the previous Jade Rabbit car - the first self-propelled vehicle of China served the Hang Nga-3 exploration project in 2013.

According to the scientific community, this new self-propelled vehicle also has components that are adaptable and configurable to handle the complex terrain in the dark areas of the Moon, the need for relay communication. , and actual needs for scientific purposes.

Currently, China has not yet named this self-propelled vehicle.

Hang Nga-4 will land in the Antarctic basin of the dark area of ​​the Moon.

Earlier, in May 2018, China launched a relay satellite to establish communication between Earth and the Hang Nga-4 project.
