China: Google Blogger service is restored
Google's free weblog service, Blogger, has once again been restored in China after years of interruption because it was locked.
Currently, Google's blog site is accessible directly from China without going through a proxy like before. The Chinese government has lifted a ban on foreign websites, including Google Blogger, which has been blocked since late 2002.
In fact, the Google Blogger site has once been banned from access, which is a three-month period from mid-October to December 12, and then locked again.
The recovery of Google Blogger access will increase the number of blog service users in China, with an estimated 24% of the 123 million Internet users "regularly" blogging.
Currently, there are many Chinese websites that provide blog services, along with similar Microsoft services (MSN Spaces), Six Apart (TypePad).
