Google confirmed phishing errors in Public Search Service
Google has just confirmed a security error that could be exploited for phishing attack organizations to exist in its Public Service Search service application.
The world's leading Internet search provider immediately closed the service until the security error was fixed.
On September 14, a phishing security error in Public Service Search was made public through the blog of a person named Eric Farraro. He said customizable code snippets of Google Public Service Search to allow nonprofit organizations to install search functionality through Google search engines could be exploited to Create a website to eat according to Google.com domain.
Online fraudsters can take advantage of this error to create fake Google websites to trick users into providing personal information. Farraro proved this by creating a website that explains Gmail Plus. When users access this page with the Gmail service password they will be taken to a completely different website.
Through a statement posted on the company's blog, Google confirmed the above security error and announced it would suspend all access to the Public Service Search service. However, the search function through the above service has been installed on other websites will still work normally.
Google also said the temporary patch has been installed, but the company wants more time to develop a full patch.
The phishing security error in Google Public Search Service is really dangerous because it can take advantage of the real Google name to create other fake websites. With this method, fake websites can completely bypass domain name fraud prevention tools.
Recent online scams are tending to boom strongly in the cybercrime world. Phishing is a testament to the 'thirst' of cybercrime.
