China hustled against storm Krosa
China's coastal provinces are urgently evacuating more than one million people and calling for nearly 70,000 fishing boats to take refuge, before the Krosa storm is expected to land very late this evening.
Chinese rescue forces are being put on high alert. According to the country's meteorological agency, Typhoon Krosa will land in the southern province of Zhejiang and north of Fujian Province in a few hours with strong winds, heavy rain and intense waves.
The National Day National Holiday in China lasts a week. Many vacationers have been evacuated urgently from resorts located on the islands. A series of activities in Shanghai, China's largest city, must also be canceled because of the storm.
According to statistics, Zhejiang Province evacuated more than 870,000 people safely and called more than 32,000 boats to shore. Meanwhile, neighboring Fujian Province also relocated about 230,000 people and asked 37,000 boats to seek shelter.
Earlier, Typhoon Krosa had swept across the northern part of Taiwan's island with heavy downpours, causing landslides and floods in many places, killing at least two people. Wind power is recorded here when the storm devastated over 185 km / h.
