This satellite is developed and produced by China Space Technology Academy, a unit of China Universe Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). And Long March 4B missile is made by Shanghai Space Technology Institute, a unit of CASC. This is the Long March 4B's 155th flight.

This is the first type of Chinese satellite to collect high-resolution data through remote sensing, marking an important leap in space technology.

According to the satellite launch center, this remote sensing satellite can conduct surveys of land resources, disaster mitigation, aid in agricultural development and water resource management.
