Chinese aluminum factory pollutes the environment

The operation of the aluminum factory with many projects that consume energy and pollutes affects the lives of people in Taoyuan County, Hunan Province, China.

Due to pollution, crop yields in all crops declined, trees produced small size fruits and gradually changed over time. Worse, since the factory went into operation in 2011, more than 10 villagers died of cancer.

Air, water and soil pollution causes a lot of irreparable damage to local environmental conditions. Many people do not want to leave their homeland where they have lived almost all their lives, but many others decide to leave their homes and migrate to new lands.

"Residents mostly die or leave elsewhere. How can this place be our place of residence?" , a person named Liu Minghui said. In 2008, Liu and two other brothers had collected 400,000 yuan (nearly 65,000 USD) to build a three-story house. More than 10 family members used to live in this house, but now only Liu and his mother are left. After the farm was polluted and unable to grow or raise, they migrated to another city to earn money to live.

Liu and other households accept living with pollution because it is difficult to find a large enough space for agricultural farming. According to Xinhua, the environmental protection agencies in Hunan are investigating the situation here.

Similar issues are noted in many other localities of China. Heavy metal pollution in water sources in Tam Hiep village, in the Guangxi Zhuang ethnic autonomous region, is thought to cause many unusual health problems for people.
