Chinese search engines are sued for containing Spyware
A Chinese man has just sued Zhongsou search engine after the VoIP phone software he downloaded from the network contains spyware.
Sun Zhongpeng accused Zhongsou.com, the world's largest self-proclaimed Chinese search engine, stealthily inserting spyware and malicious software into Internet phone software "IGPhone" developed by the tool.
Sun is currently a member of the China Anti-Holligan Software Association. He told the court that after installing IGPhone, the malware named Internet Pig immediately installed itself on his PC. "I can't completely remove this software. It runs automatically and makes my computer run slowly like a slug," Sun said.
"And yet, it is also designed to monitor activities on my network. It is possible that Zhongsou has collected information about users through this program, for their commercial purposes. Article This has violated my personal privacy , "Sun alleges.
Sun asked in court that Zhongsou must publicly apologize and pay 94 yuan (190,000 VND) for the economic losses he encountered because of the above spyware Internet Pig, plus 1000 yuan of expenses for the lawsuit.
Zhongsou defended that Sun voluntarily downloaded Internet Pig to the computer when he accepted the IGPhone installation. This tool insists that Internet Pig can be completely removed and is no longer used.
The court has yet to make any conclusions.
