The oversized big head of this Vietnamese endemic frog is a remnant from the dinosaur period.

As a country of equatorial tropics, Vietnam is endowed with a diverse and rich fauna with thousands of different species, many of which are endemic to Vietnam.

This biological diversity is also expressed through many exotic animals that, if admired for the first time, many of us will be surprised. One of them is the girth frog , an ancient amphibian that has survived from the Cretaceous, recorded mainly in the Central Highlands and some locations in South Vietnam.
