New NASA space station astronauts integrate dozens of exercises.

To avoid muscle weakness , astronauts now have to exercise for two hours a day. During the week, astronauts on the ISS space station had to do three different exercises with bicycles, treadmills and devices called ARED.

The device is called Miniature Exercise Device or MED-2.

However space station space is quite narrow to equip the exercise machine cumbersome. For that reason, designers at NASA have developed a new, lightweight but extremely effective training device. The device is called Miniature Exercise Device or MED-2.

According to Slashgear, MED-2 is a device with many different fitness functions. The device weighs about 29kg and can withstand loads up to 158kg.

Thanks to its great bearing capacity, MED-2 offers dozens of different exercises depending on the weight of each practitioner. MED-2 uses the energy generated during the astronaut's exercise to power the following exercises.

MED-2 has been posted to the ISS space station since March 22. NASA is testing MED-2's performance in zero gravity. This is an opportunity for the US Aerospace Agency to continue researching and refining equipment for the future Mars mission.
