Coconut fruit weighs nearly 9 kg

Pair of coconut with each fruit weighing nearly 9 kg displayed at the exhibition of Golden Rice Cotton Fair in Soc Trang is taking place, attracting hundreds of turns of people to admire and take souvenir photos.

The owner of double giant coconut is Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, in Xom Cho hamlet, Ke An commune, Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province.

Each left circumference measured 4 hands, double coconut became the focal point for visitors to the fair. Many people believe that this is the largest coconut in the West, calculated so far.

According to Mr. Trung, the coconut variety for the left is a bad coconut, yellow shell, 3-4 times larger than normal, containing an average of 2.5-3.5 liters of coconut water. Now he has 2 coconuts over 20 years old, previously planted by his parents.

Coconut Trees are left all year round, each chamber is 6 to 8 fruits. Many people have come to ask to buy seeds to plant. Mr. Trung added, on the occasion of April 30, last year, he sold a pair of coconuts to overseas Vietnamese guests for 100,000 dong a fruit.
