Comets that Burbank astronauts witnessed from the International Space Station (ISS), as well as other observers on the ground were quickly named '2011 Christmas Comets , ' and 'Stars of the Marvel'.

Lovejoy has lit up the southern hemisphere's sky, while most northern hemisphere observers are not so lucky, according to Space.com.

By Christmas the following year (2013), it was likely that the northern hemisphere witnessed the "Star of his wonder" : ISON comet, preparing a march to the inner part of the solar system in November and December. next year.

It's still too early to say whether ISON will be '2013 Comet' or just a big disappointment for astronomers.

However, astronomers are still staring at the sky in hopes of catching the trail of its long tail.
