Complete 'portrait' of a 50,000 year old girl

Scientists are gradually completing the 'portrait' of the 50,000-year-old ancient Denisova girl buried in the Siberian cave by analyzing a finger bone fragment.

After analyzing the finger bone fragment gene of an ancient girl, Denisova's hair, skin and eyes were all brown. At the same time, scientists also shed light on genetic differences between modern humans and near-extinct relatives.

The gene comparison results were made by the team from Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig (Germany) and Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA).

The Denisovian gene bears the same characteristics as the Neanderthals and the 11 modern human species worldwide, a proof of homosexuality. Therefore, a certainty of Denisovans DNA still exists in some parts of the population today.

According to the study, about 3% of the genomes of people currently living in Papua New Guinea come from Denisovans. Simultaneously, Denisova DNA traces also appeared in Chinese and Chinese genes in China.

In addition, when scientists compared genetic material inherited from the parents of the girl, Denisova scientists have very low levels of genetic diversity. This means that Denisovans only develop into a small group while the migration process is rapid, making the opportunity to create more genetic diversity no longer.
