Recently, the mysterious phenomenon of the Siberian Ice Maiden , also known as the princess of Ukok, a mummy of a 5th century BC woman is quite interested in archeology. Her body was preserved after being buried in permafrost 2,500 years, but now, her face and neck have been damaged quite a lot.

Mr. Nyffenegger was commissioned by the Museum of History of the Palatinate in Speyer, Germany to restore the bust of the princess. Previously, he had recreated the faces of Neanderthals, Aboriginal, Native Americans and Homo heidelbergensis. Nyffenegger said: It was two weeks that made him really crazy. He could not work more than 2; 3 hours a day because this is a very boring job and makes him hurt his neck, forcing him to do other things.

Siberian mummies were discovered from the permanently frozen tomb on the Ukok plateau in the Altai Mountains in 1993. She was buried in a separate mound, not in the family grave. Experts have not determined which family they belong to, but are related to the Pazyryks.

In the previous October, the MRI machine scanned the 2,500-year-old mummy and revealed the female master of the mummy with acute breast cancer. Experts also said that she used marijuana to wreak havoc on her illness. The scanning of high-tech equipment was conducted in Novosibirsk by Russian scientists: Andrey Letyagin and Andrey Savelov.
