During the archaeological excavation of Son La hydropower area, scientists collected 5-7 tons of artifacts. These artifacts are mostly crafted from stone into crude chisel tools such as tables, pestle crushing food, table grinding, stripping pieces . There are also some grinding tools for body and coarse pottery. , brushed writing, pedal writing, some earthenware like spinning cars .
Scientists at the Vietnam Institute of Archeology believe that this is a working and living tool of the ethnic group living in the old stone age, dating back from about 30,000 years and lasting to the new post-stone period. 3,000-7,000 years ago.

According to the archaeologists, from the data values of the relics in the Son La hydropower reservoir, along the banks of the Da River in the past, tens of thousands of years ago there were human inhabitants.
Previously, on August 13, Vietnam Archaeological Institute confirmed the completion of excavation and relocation of 6 archaeological sites in the Son La hydropower reservoir area, of which 28,482 artifacts were collected. These artifacts are mostly in the old post-stone era more than 20,000 years ago and last until the new stone age with a period of about 3,000-4,000 years.
On May 18, Son La province also completed the relocation of people from Son La hydropower reservoir, 2 years earlier than the original plan with 12,584 ethnic minority households here.
