Control your phone with your feet

If you have to put the baby in his arms to answer the phone or drop basket while he is shopping down just because you want to move to another song in the music player of the mobile phone is very inconvenient.

A very interesting finding by Sriram Subramanian and colleagues at the University of Bristol (UK) and Manitoba (Canada) shows that your little feet can handle these chores.

This technology can reduce the workload of your hands.

The researchers connected the Kinect sensor to a tablet. When a user performs foot kick action, the kinect will track the movement of the foot and turn it into a kick to move the ball in the desired direction on the screen.

At the Mobile HCI conference in Stockholm last week, Subramanian said they discovered five different leg positions and each position was 24 degrees apart. In addition, users can create kicks with two different speeds. This study is a good signal for applications with kicking leg movements , such as using a kick through different screens to locate a menu with many options.

The Kinect setup is still sly, but Subramanian hopes future phones will be connected to the accelerometer in the user's shoes. This technology is being used by Nike and Apple to provide information on time, distance, progress ... in the running process for iPhone owners.
