With regular wood, if soaking in water for a long time, it can lead to reduced elasticity. In fact, the same samples of Balsa soaked in the same solution lost 70% of the hardness and 40% of the resistance to the impact.

This material is also harder to burn than regular wood and only burns if exposed to continuous fire. Interestingly, it can be easily extinguished after being removed from the fire. This is a great advantage of this synthetic wood.

When mixing this material with graphene, the scientists developed that the material could be better insulated than natural wood.
