Dead people incarnate in green trees thanks to egg coffins

The giant egg-shaped organic cover replaces the traditional coffin, bringing the deceased person into green trees.

The idea of organic casing replaces traditional coffins

Two Italian designers Anna Citelli and Roul Bretzel have implemented The Capsula Mundi project to create egg-shaped organic covers , replacing traditional coffins. These "eggs" turn the dead body into a nutrient to feed the greenery planted above.

According to Earth Porm, the organic cover instead of the coffin only stops at the idea stage, because Italian law prohibits the burial of dead people in this form. However, if the project is allowed to continue, it will turn the cemetery into a green park, instead of containing all tombstones.

After putting the body in the cover in a curled posture like a fetus in the womb, people buried "egg coffins" deep underground, and placed a green seed tree or planted young trees above . The growing green tree will nourish the "egg" , making the deceased seem to incarnate into the tree top.

Customers can choose favorite plants when they are alive. When lost, relatives and friends will visit and take care of the tree or rest under its shade.

This idea creates many benefits for the environment. Instead of cutting trees to make coffins, this project helps us create more trees. Buried sheaths are also made of renewable, biodegradable materials, including starch and plant plastics (such as potatoes, corn), environmentally friendly.
