Decontamination work around the Fukushima Plant was three years late

In January 2012, Japan's Ministry of Environment officials said the decontamination work would be completed before March 2014, except for areas with very high levels of radiation.

NHK reported that Japanese government officials said the decontamination work around the damaged nuclear power plant in Fukushima was three years behind schedule and now the goal is to complete this work before the month. 3/2017.

In January 2012, Japan's Ministry of Environment officials said the decontamination work would be completed before March 2014, except for areas with very high levels of radiation. However, the cleanup was delayed compared to expected in areas where penetration was restricted in six of the 11 administrative areas.

Japanese officials have difficulty persuading people to allow temporary zones to contain contaminated soil. They said they would prioritize work in residential areas, so that people could soon return home.

There is still no plan for decontamination for Futaba town, where the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant is located. 1. The Ministry of Environment officials are still trying to negotiate with the local people about this plan.
