Departing virtual flight to Mars

The ship "virtual" to Mars with a 520 day and night journey, the third stage in the 'Mars - 500' project of the Y-Sinh Academy (Russian Academy of Sciences) 'departed' yesterday.

The crew consisted of six people, including three astronauts - studying Russia, a French, a Chinese and an Italian.

During 520 days, 'Red planet citizens' will live completely separate from the world in the spacecraft model with the same conditions as the actual flight to Mars. No internet, no TV, no radio, the only contact with the Earth of the crew will be through the Flight Control Center. The purpose of testing is to gather practical experience to prepare for a real flight to the Red planet.
