There is 1 Vietnamese in the list of 100 people selected on Mars

A non-profit private company called Mars One (in the Netherlands) has been planning to recruit 4 people to make a permanent flight to Mars and will never return.

The number of volunteer participants has reached more than 200,000 but after many selections and refinements, there are only 100 people (50 men and 50 women), and people will continue to refine more thoroughly to Choose the last 4 people to step into the spaceship and fly away, the goal is to find the most capable people to survive and work on the Red planet.

This list of 100 people includes 39 people from the Americas, 31 from Europe, 16 Asians (among 16 Asians there are 1 Vietnamese), 7 Africans and 7 people Oceania. They are chosen from different ages and ethnic backgrounds, the youngest is 20 and the largest is 60 years old. Their mission (the last 4 people) is to fly to Mars, establish a base and then live and work until they die, absolutely no flying back to Earth.

If the flight is successful, they will be the first to set foot on Mars. However, to be on the flight list is not easy because they will have to go through various challenging exercises both physically and mentally. Details of the exercises have not been revealed, but 200,000 people have only chosen 4, obviously it will be very strict. For example, in addition to being physically and physically healthy, future astronauts must show that they have a steel spirit and are steadfast because the journey from Earth to Mars is extremely long, the average distance between Mars and Earth is 225,000,000km (depending on the current position of the two planets in orbit around the Sun, closest to is 54.6 million and the farthest is 401 million km).

If moving by NASA's fastest spacecraft, New Horizons (58,536 km / h), then the four of them spent an average of 162 days to reach Mars, equivalent to nearly 6 months of sitting in a small space. of the ship carrying them. During those 6 months they had to live in a state of zero gravity, all day facing a very quiet space outside the universe, away from their homeland, long time, very uncomfortable facilities easy to make people lose their temper. Therefore, the mental challenges are great, you are tired, want to leave the Earth but you are not sure you have survived the 6 long months of the trip.

People have never set foot on Mars and have not built any bases on it

Known in 2013, Mars One once opened a fundraising campaign on Indiego to earn $ 400,000 as a cost for unmanned test flights in 2018 (in cooperation with Lockheed Martin and SSTL). Unfortunately, they only collected $ 300,000, but the company continued their project and tried to earn enough money in many different ways. Perhaps at that time the private company side SpaceX will gain new achievements on their boosters and help the 4 Mars One project members fly into space at a much cheaper cost.

Although there are many similarities with Earth, Mars is still a very harsh planet and now (perhaps) there are no living things on it at all.

What if the Mars One project is successful will be a great step forward for humankind, helping people with an extra planet to live in and what will produce a new species?

In this list of 100 chosen people on Mars, there is one Vietnamese selected, that is Mr. Vu Xuan Linh. (You can see information about Mr. Linh posted on the Mars One official website).
