Vu Quoc Anh's real name Vu Xuan Linh, 31, just returned to Vietnam a few months ago after a long time studying and working in the US and Singapore, Chile. Currently he works in marketing in Ho Chi Minh City. Quoc Anh is one of nine Vietnamese people listed on the first round of the list, and is chosen to continue on to the second round of the Mars 1 Program (Mars One Program).

In the first round, he persuaded the organizers of the reason for participating in the program with a short clip, clearly showing the determination and courage to face the journey called "suicide journey" .

The Mars One program is a non-profit project of a Dutch company, headed by Bas Lansdrop. The project is considered to be the most daring ever, with the aim of bringing the first four people to settle in Mars in 2023 on the "one go and no return" spacecraft, ie for those with The intention to live the rest of life on Mars. The cost of the first flight to Mars is 6 billion USD.

The program has gone through many stages, from studying feasibility, calling on investors to design travel programs. Immediately after announcing the plan to recruit astronauts in April 2013, there were more than 200,000 applicants from 107 countries and territories applying at the end of August 31, 2013. Participants are citizens of any country, regardless of language, level, religion.

In the second round, the United Kingdom will join 1,057 competitors to undergo examination on health, height, weight of the heart, lungs, eyes, limbs, infectious diseases . Next rounds of organization in 2014, 2015.

"I am confident and hope to pass all the rounds of organizers to fulfill a once-Martian dream , " Quoc Anh said.

Like to explore and do daring things, so when I learned information about astronauts on Mars, the Thai Binh boy did not hesitate to apply. Instead of receiving encouragement, the Kingdom faced opposition from family and friends."Up to 99.9% of friends said I was crazy and was acting stupidly." Quoc Anh ignored all those words, because more than anyone, he understood that only people who were worried about him said so, because this is a "one go no return" flight. Then he quietly persuaded people that "this is a thousand-year opportunity."

Besides the business ability, astronomy is always an area that Quoc Anh is passionate about. If in astronomy, the Kingdom admires Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin and Pham Tuan; in business, he idolized Richard Branson, and Elon Musk. Kingdom said, his personality is influenced much by these two successful entrepreneurs."They are people who carry out extremely daring projects, have ambitions and the ability to make dreams come true. Even Elon Musk wants to" retire "in Mars when he gets old ," Quoc Anh said.

From an early age, the Kingdom has been able to design telescopes to see stars in the sky. So joining the program to bring people to Mars this time is an opportunity for him to explore the new planet."Becoming an astronaut or simply traveling the universe is the dream of many people, including me," said Quoc Anh.

"I have known for a long time that only US citizens can work for NASA and space projects, our Vietnamese people often have less opportunity. While the Martian program recognizes people regardless of nationality and ethnicity So, after finding out, I decided to join, " Quoc Anh added.

The biggest obstacle in the journey to Mars is that the candidates will only have a one-way ticket to this planet, because the cost of the trip is very expensive, ie the participants will be forever in Mars, no get back to Earth. But with the British, on the contrary, this is the most convincing factor for him, because it shows only those who have courage to discover will dare to join.

"Perhaps each person looking at certain things, people will consider according to their liking. To me, going to Mars is far more attractive and meaningful than one-way content." Quoc Anh said.

Quoc Anh said that those who participated in this flight were the ones who dared to accept death, taking risks. They were soldiers on the battlefield and ready to face any gunfire."The program needs people who dare to risk themselves for such a great purpose."

"Everyone will die, and choose how to die even more so that other factors decide. It is a mission of great significance , " Quoc Anh said.

According to the Kingdom, going to Mars is like a journey to find new America - a place in the past where people thought they could not return.

If becoming one of the 4 members on Mars, Quoc Anh will join the other members to ensure their own life, take care of the artificial ecosystem on the new planet, carry out scientific research, find minerals. products, energy sources .

Just like on Earth, in Mars, people can still communicate with their families and expatriates, even if anyone has a private company that can still run."On Mars does not mean going to an isolated prison where increasing communication with the earth is motivated," Quoc Anh said.

"Maybe many people will say we are white mice, but we are thoughtful mice and dare to do what we want," Quoc Anh added.

In the second round, the Kingdom will join 1,057 candidates in an effort to raise funds for the first project of the program. This project will study the construction of the first unmanned landing craft on Mars in 2018, which is the premise for a landed landing craft in 2025. The robot has the task of building the settlement. It was built by the world's leading aerospace equipment manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, known in Vietnam by creating and successfully launching VINASAT satellites.

Conditions for a person to be able to go to Mars must at least meet two physical criteria (healthy body, coping with the task of controlling spacecraft and subjecting to extraterrestrial conditions) and mentally (tolerates loneliness on the spacecraft and lives on Mars when there are 4 people). There are also other factors such as finance, family .

Experts judged that, if successfully implemented, it would be the greatest step of mankind, since so far the nations have only taken people to the Moon to explore, or to launch a spacecraft out. time to study science and then to Earth; Even the US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has only just taken robots to Mars and abandoned the idea of bringing people up because the budget does not allow it. Therefore the mission to bring people to Mars became the common mission of mankind when the 1st Mars program started.
