The British Justice Minister warned of the phenomenon of micro-sized mobile phones just about the size of a thumb being swept into prison, to the prisoners.

Minister David Lidington said the device was promoted to bypass the security electronic system because it did not contain metal.

The phone, called 'Beat the BOSS' , can be purchased online for $ 25 each, but when it becomes a smuggling item in prison, the price of the phone can be as high as $ 500.

In 2016 alone, in British prisons, the police force discovered at least 20,000 pirated phones and all kinds of sim cards. 1/3 of the phones found are in the 'Beat the BOSS' brand.

Speaking on December 18, Minister Lidington said: 'Clearly these super tiny phones are advertised and sold for the purpose of smuggling. I urge online sellers and sales sites to remove products. ' Currently, mini mobile phones are being sold on sale websites such as Amazon, Gumtree or eBay.

This mini-product can be used by criminals to conduct missions and threaten victims immediately after being behind bars.

The Ministry of Justice had to invest £ 2 million in equipment for detecting cell phones used in prisons.

A mini phone only weighs 13 grams, a 0.49-inch OLED screen with 64 x 12 pixel resolution and has memory for 300 contact numbers.
