Detects genes that control the signal of the heart rate

The international team of scientists from the UK, the US, Germany and the Netherlands has conducted a full genome analysis of tens of thousands of people who have discovered a large number of genes controlling heart rate signals.

Scientists after genetic data analysis and the health of about 50,000 people discovered 22 gene locations in the human genome that influence the control of heart rate signals.

Dr. Jim Wilson, of the University of Edinburgh (UK), said the results of the study may help scientists to better understand how electrical signals work in the heart system.

At the same time, this finding has important implications for studying new measures to treat cardiac arrhythmias and the heart suddenly stops beating.
