When digging the foundation in the sports ground of a primary school, the workers suddenly dug into the ceiling of a lavish ancient tomb.

The incident happened at Xiaojingyu Primary School in Taiyuan City (Shanxi Province, China). While digging to lay the foundation to renovate the sports ground for the school, workers found themselves digging through the ceiling of an underground secret chamber.

The incident is reported to the authorities. The secret was inspected and archaeologists discovered that it was a lavish ancient tomb with magnificent decorated rooms.

Many elaborate painted pictures cover the walls of the tomb. People also found sophisticated pots with countless other valuable artifacts, suggesting that the owner in the throne was most likely a member of the royal family. It is estimated that the date of the tomb is up to 1,300 years, ie in the 8th century, belonging to the Tang Dynasty of China.

A city official said they wanted to excavate the tomb more thoroughly. But this is not easy because the area of ​​this grave is too large, structures can "hit" several buildings of a nearby school. So to understand this historical treasure, it is likely that the authorities will have to negotiate with the school to temporarily relocate and dismantle some of the school's structures to serve the research work.
