Discover 140 earth-like planets

A statement shocked scientists when the number of Earth-like planets was found to reach 140 in just a few weeks.

This is a report by astronomers at the TED Global High-Tech Conference held at Oxford (UK) last weekend.

The result of this discovery comes from the observation of the Kepler space telescope as it conducts sweeping stars in the sky. With this new discovery, scientists hope that Earth is not the only planet with life in the universe.

Even scientists believe that the number of Earth-like planets in the Milky Way does not stop at 140 but about 100 million planets. They also expect that within the next 2 years, about 60 other planets such as Earth can be identified.

Speaking at the conference, astronomer Dimitar Sasselov emphasized, "This is a remarkable breakthrough discovery, with this initial success we are contributing to gradually fulfilling Copernicus' dreams."

He also pointed out that the size of the newly discovered planets is equivalent to the size of the earth. Their size and trajectory are determined by calculating the parameters of brightness, time between flashes and the distance between them and other stars.

'A living planet needs to gather essential elements such as water, stone, oxygen and many other chemicals. So there's a lot of work we have to do after this new discovery. In the immediate future, we will investigate more about the discovered planets and then research and analyze to filter out the planets suitable for life. ' He added.

In the past 15 years, nearly 500 planets have been found around other stars in the galaxy, but so far only a few of them are close to Earth.
