Scientists from the Institute of Tropical Biology of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Japan, Cambodia and Thailand have discovered a new plant species belonging to the family of Elot (Elaeagnaceae) in Indochina and Thai regions. In the most recent survey (2014) of botanical Institute of Tropical Biology of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Asian Ecological Conservation Center of Kyushu University in Japan discovered the area distributed in Bi Doup-Nui Ba National Park, Lam Dong Province. Previously, scientists have discovered and described this species according to specimens collected from Cambodia and Thailand.

This new species is characterized by a creeping shrub and young branch with sharp feathers; The leaves are elliptical to urticaria, size (2,4-) 3,2-10 x (1,1-) 1,5-4,2cm, with a pointed tip. Round tree root to point; bisexual flowers, growing into clusters of 1-3 flowers in the leaf axils. Fruit has oval shape, 1.4-1.9cm long.
