Computer technology group Apple is building a new headquarters with a total budget of 5 billion USD, aiming to turn this place into the best and greenest office building on the planet.
Apple's new headquarters (Campus 2) in the city of Cupertino, California, USA, is in the process of completion and is expected to be put into use early next year.The 4-storey building with the shape of this spaceship is located in a park of 700,000 m2, construction cost is up to 5 billion USD.
After completion, the office will have a total area of about 260,000 m2, which is the workplace of 13,000 employees.Approximately 7,000 greenery of the park will be planted into the premises of the headquarters.Previously, the late CEO Steve Jobs said, Apple will build a new headquarters into "the best office building in the world".
The underground hall with a capacity of 1,000 seats has been roofed.Most of the area above the building will be covered by solar panels.CEO Tim Cook said that this could be the greenest building on the planet.
