Discover new jasmine species in Quang Nam

Vietnamese jasmine - Jasminum vietnamense is a new plant discovered by scientists in Quang Nam province. This species belongs to the Oleaceae family.

This new plant species was discovered and published by scientists of Vietnam Nature Museum, Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) and Chung Nam University. , South Korea. The specimen of this species was collected in Song Thanh area, Quang Nam province and stored at the three research units mentioned above.

Jasminum vietnamense has morphological characteristics close to Jasminum adenophyllum and J. Fuchsiifolium. The difference is that the leaves are elliptical and main veins with 5-6 tendons. Inflorescences rarely grow in leaf axils. Inflorescence of flowers without feathers, from 1-3 flowers. The station is always 1-2mm small. The fruit has an elliptical shape.
