Discover new monkey species in Brazil
The Wildlife Conservation Society (The Wildlife Conservation Society, WCS) announced on July 7 that a new monkey species lives in the Amazon, Brazil tropical rainforest.
The new monkey species has the scientific name of Saguinus fuscicollis mura , which is related to the squirrel-headed monkey (Tamarin) and has a distinctive characteristic that is very similar to the saddleback (saddleback). Body color of new monkey species is almost black and dark brown, especially with stripes in the back. It weighs 213g, 24cm high, while the tail is 32cm long.
Scientists say the monkey was first seen in an expedition conducted in 2007 in the state of Amazonas, northwestern Brazil.
