Discover rare and precious snow leopard
Researchers have just taken a picture of about five wild snow leopards on top of a 7.435-meter Tomur mountain in Xinjiang province, northwestern China. This is the first time that Chinese scientists have taken pictures of this rare animal.
The previously known snow leopard is often scattered on the high snowy peaks of 2,700-6,000m or large plateaus in Afghanistan, India and Nepal.
Based on the findings this time, the actual number of snow leopards may still be larger than the estimated 750 children by Dr. George Schaller, expert of the World Conservation Organization (WCS), in 1980.
