Discover the biggest treasure in the UK

An antique hunter has excavated a batch of gold from the largest Anglo-Saxon era ever, in a field in Staffordshire, England.

The gold-medieval archaeologists are even more significant than the discovery of the buried treasure ship in Sutton Hoo 70 years ago.

Experts said the gold batch of 1,500 objects could have belonged to the Saxon royal family since the 7th century.

The treasure consists of about 5 kg of gold and 2.5 kg of silver, much larger than the previous findings.

Experts are assembling fragments that they consider belong to sophisticated decorated helmets.

It takes several months to calculate the value of this gold batch. All the excavations will belong to Mr. Herbert and the owner of the field where the treasure is discovered.
