The location is located along a mountain range in Antarctica . New findings will be revealed at the annual meeting of the National Geographic Union this week.

According to The Sunday Times, researchers from the US National Snow and Ice Data Center used satellites and other modern techniques to conduct temperature measurements in Antarctica and found a cold point of -91.2. degree C at 3,779m above Mount Dome Fuji .

The temperature range is 13 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature of -78.5 degrees Celsius, where CO 2 changes from gas to solid (dry ice). Therefore, if present, human eye, nose and lung parts will freeze within minutes.

Scientists were surprised because it was colder than the previous world's coldest air temperature (-89.2 degrees Celsius), recorded at Russia's Vostok research station in Antarctica in the winter of 1983.

However, the researchers believe that there may be more cold spots than -91.2 degrees Celsius. In particular, the coldest temperature is measured in clear and dry conditions, not in windy or snowy days.
