Discovered a 2,000-year-old ancient tomb in Central China

Archaeologists say the tomb includes 4 graves and more than 10 cultural relics such as iron, iron pots and unearthed pottery.

This grave group belongs to the Eastern Han Dynasty.

A 2,000-year-old burial site was recently discovered in Yunxi district, the county level of Shiyan, Hubei province, central China.

Van Tay district's information bureau said this relic was discovered during the process of making road on June 14 in a village in the district.

Archaeologists say the tomb includes 4 graves and more than 10 cultural relics such as iron, iron pots and unearthed pottery. Many skeletons and human teeth were also found.

Based on the structural features of excavated cultural relics, archaeologists believe that the grave belongs to the Eastern Han Dynasty (from 25 to 220 years).

Van Tay district's information bureau said the new finding could help to study burial practices at that time and excavations are still ongoing.
