China: discovered an ancient burial area 1,700 years old
On Tuesday, according to a news report, archaeologists discovered a 1,700-year-old ancient tomb complex in East China. The graves contain mirrors of bronze, porcelain and coins.
Xinhua reported in the report: tombs located near Ningbo's port city were discovered by an excavator at a construction site.
The report does not indicate who was buried or how many bodies were found in these tombs.
Quoting Ding Youfu, a member of the archeology team, according to a report of the carvings on the graves, they were built in 256 AD. He said they are the best preserved tombs in the region.
It can be seen on the wall of the grave of figures showing fish, animals, dragons, phoenixes and money. Ding said ' They are truly amazing and clear .'
Xie Guopi, another member of the archeology team, said archaeologists had planned to excavate an area more than 15,000 meters around the main burial site and expected to find at least five other graves.
